Re-building the French Estate IV (completion)

OK its was good deal of work but the French Estate is ready to be shown in its completed state and ready for armies to fight over it.

 In this over head shot you cannot see the cracks in the court yard they are still visible up close but most of the time on the table you won't notice them.

 The gravel road and road leading up to the gate looks great as does the clump foliage hedge.

 The crack on this side is now hidden behind the tree also it provides a way for young men and women to get out the window.

 Ivy and clump foliage on the cracked garden wall you can just barely see the crack if you know were to look but even when you see it blends now.

 Garden no fills in the hole left when pieces were glued together.

 A look at the main building and the tower window which came out really well if I do say so.

The rear wall of the villa small cracks but as they cross into the exposed masonry I left them as is the blend well with the piece.  This was a fun project how do people think I did?

Rebuilding the French Estate Part III

I've been working steadily on this project for a bit now.  The walls need a bit of touch up to get the shading right in a few places but mostly its fully painted.  So I have started dressing the piece.  The Chipping along the base here has been covered with some clump foliage creating a small hedge at the base of the wall.

The cracked outer wallsection is now decorated with Army Painter Ivy.  You can still see the cracks in places but helps cover them compliments them.

The gardener is completed aging Army Painter's wild flowers are used. They are a favorite basing material for me and the ivy creeping over the wall complements it well (not great for any Chateau defenders but it looks cool)

The Estate is raise so I used putty to build a ramp and some Gale Force 9 base covering material to cover it. Once it has been painted and given a wash it should look like a gravel road running past the Estate's entrance.

Re-Building the French Estate part II

As you can see work is progressing well. A top down view barely shoes the main crack that ran across the courtyard. The whole made int he courtyard floor has been filled with spackle and at the suggestion of a reader a fence of tooth picks built around the whole. This will be filled with the wild flower from Army Painter to make a garden.  

Paint covers a lot I am thinking a little spackle may be in order here to fill in the gap the chunk that was taken out of the all at the top is a conundrum.   I could fill it with some putty or leave it as is... or possibly use some Army Painter Ivy to cover it.

This rack is a happy accident it looks like it belongs and maybe even makes this section of wall look better.

This is the sectioning of wall adjacent to the new garden I will probably partly cover the cracks with Army Painter Ivy leaving just enough visible to suggest a weakened section of wall.

Re-building the JR Minature French Villa

  As I posted earlier this week I got the French Villa from Noble Knight less than perfect condition.  As I reported they gave me a full refund since they didn't ask me to return the damaged building I decided to see what I could do to put it back together.  I got a 5x6 inch base from a craft store and began assembling the pieces.

 I use woodland scenic glue to fix the large pieces on the base and then used a little super glue stick the pieces to each other just for a little extra strength.

With all the major pieces together the French Villa looks almost like new there are some cracks that are still visible but think I can cover that up with some paint and make it look like some battle damage or something. I'll up date this as I work on it so you can see how it goes.
