US Aircraft Carriers

 For World War II I tend to focus on surface actions but the Aircraft Carriers where the abiters of Naval power at least in Pacific.

Three of theese are Prints form Ghekek the fourth is an older minature of mine form Panzerschiffe

CV 3 USS Staratoga she started life as a Battle Cruiser but was covnerted thanks to the Washington Naveal treaty.  She had a bad habbit of catching Jappanese Torpeados but the good habbit of surviving these strikes. She missed most of the Big Battles but was invoved in active operations and pulled her weight her reaid on Truk was probably her brightest moment of Glory.  

CV 8 USS Hornet the ship made famous by the Dolittle Raid, the Flight to now Where the scarifice of Torpeado Squadorn 8 and her refuals to die easy at the Battle of the Santa Cruz Island. 

CV 6 Everyone's favorite carrier USS Enterprise.  She was involved in and a Key contributor to all the major carrier battles with the exception of Coral Sea.  Her Aviators were as good as any in the world, most importatly she was a lucky ship, she got hurt several times but always came back ready for another round. 

CV 5 the USS Yorktown the First of her class wounded at Coral Sea, returend to fighting trim in time for Midway where she was wounded two more times.  Her amazing Damage control team would have brought her back for a third fight if a Japanese submarien hadn't gotten luck.  Her air group did much of the damage inflicted at midway (actualy it was the Saratoga's air group move aboard after coral sea).
