We had planned on four players but one our players was down with pneumonia (feel better Mike) so Dave and I cut down the size of our forces and Frank took the roll of the defender in the Death Race scenario.
Frank has an army of Kroot he's been modifying for Dragon Rampant. Dave has Dwarves including a Trebuchet "heave missile" unit and a cavalry unit riding giant badgers (or maybe bears?) I have two Elite Riders, one Heavy Rider, a unit of light missiles and two units of scouts.
The invisible Kroot scouts slip though my screen of skirmishers...
Dave and I get shots off at these cavalry and saddles are emptied...
Sadly my first unit of skirmishers is caught by a quick moving warbeast unit...
They got one hit before going down...
and my archers also get run down quickly...
The last group of skirmishers do get a small measure of revenge...
Andy my leader and his Elite household knights counter attack
they drive the Warbeasts back...
Frank is having a hard time getting all of his troops to advance those harpies (bellicose foot with flying) are being especially stubborn.
My cavalry and Dave's Bardger riders controll the center of the board
Heavy riders take down a unit of war beasts
Dwarves and Kroot clash the and the Kroot are driven back.
with the war Bears down the allied cavalry move forward, though cautiously.
Harpies strike the dwarven heavy foot scoring several kills but then Frank rolls a 2 for his own courage test and the remaining flyer scatter with the bodies of dwarves to eat.
Only two(?) Kroot units remain... what two?
The invisible scouts are running for the escape point...
The Allies line up for the kill
Long range fire hits the Kroot infantry...
Elite Riders and the Kroot "shaper" (also Elite Rider, with flying) strike... the Kroot leader is driven back
and launches his own Attack... driving back the Heavy riders.
The Dwarves have finished the Kroot infantry but the leader remains and is still ready to die game.
Repeated charges and counter charges take place...
At last the Kroot leader is brought to bay...
